Bagno Venere, a beloved beach establishment with a restaurant and apartments, has a rich history rooted in family and dedication.
The Genesis of Bagno Venere
In the autumn of 1963, Ery and Fresia Talani erected the first stilt house on the sand, assisted by their young son Giampaolo, who was in charge of selecting and handing over screws, nails, and bolts. Over the following months, the stilt houses multiplied, along with tables, planks, stairs, railings, windows, portholes, doors, and entrances. Ery, a skilled carpenter and self-taught architect, constructed the structures, while Fresia chose, touched up, and painted each piece of wood and crafted every furnishing fabric, and Giampaolo became a hardware specialist.
By June 1964, a small white and blue shack, forty cabins surrounded by colorful flags, and a hundred second-hand umbrellas and deck chairs, along with four historic (and very heavy) wooden paddle boats, cheerfully adorned what was once the southernmost beach of San Vincenzo, bathed in the warm sun of hope. Bagno Venere was born.
The beach was beautiful and clean, and so was the sea. Every summer, the excellent service, smiles, and hospitality of those white and blue umbrellas created a lively, cheerful, simple, and familiar atmosphere.
Bagno Venere grew, with Ery as a formidable captain and lifeguard, Fresia as an exquisite cook, and Giampaolo as a speedy bartender serving drinks, ice cream, and coffee. One fine summer day, Paola arrived, and the restaurant dining room found its most beautiful and efficient waitress.
Resilience and Rebirth
The great storm of 1981 destroyed that vibrant world of wood and paint in just a few winter days. However, the magnificent four did not lose heart and, with effort, faith, and courage, rebuilt everything so quickly that the following summer, the colors of the sea, this time not on wood but on the wall, welcomed bathers more cheerfully than ever.
Ery and Fresia eventually passed on, but Martino, the son of Giampaolo and Paola, took over. Bagno Venere continued to grow, helping him grow as well, between the beach and the sea. Now, together with his excellent friend Stefano, he is at the helm of what is considered the most beautiful adventure in the world.

Just a short distance from Bagno Venere, you can find the statue of Venus. The body of water that faces the Criptoportico houses a Venus in Carrara marble, inspired by the famous classical model of the Crouching Aphrodite. Sculpted by Tommaso Solari in 1762, it was placed here around 1840. Behind the statue, an opening offers visitors a privileged point of view, creating an intimate dialogue with the goddess. The waters that surround it spring from the base of a monumental yew tree and from some small waterfalls connected to the Fountain of the Shepherd.

Come anticipato adottiamo, anche quest’anno, le solite procedure per le prenotazioni balneari per la nuova stagione che ci attende. Questo significa che fino al 28 febbraio 2024 i clienti che nella scorsa stagione hanno usufruito di pacchetti di almeno 28 giorni (mensili, bimensili, stagionali) potranno riconfermare la propria postazione. Dopo tale data la direzione si ritiene libera da qualsiasi vincolo. Per chiunque volesse effettuare una nuova prenotazione dovremo aspettare la fine del periodo di prelazione, quindi i primi giorni di marzo. Abbiamo deciso, per il momento, di mantenere lo stesso numero di ombrelli della scorsa stagione.
